La Casa degli Ulivi

Privacy and cookies

This notice explains how personal data is handled on the La Casa degli Ulivi website and when you contact us. Updated: 4 October 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Marisa Pensa, at La Casa degli Ulivi, Via San Nicolò 19, 23827 Lierna (LC), Italy. For information or to exercise your rights, email info@lacasadegliulivi.com.

Browsing and accommodation enquiries

Our hosting service, OVHcloud, processes technical data needed to deliver and protect the website. Logs may include your IP address, date and time, requested resource and browser information. The purposes are website operation, security and investigating faults; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining a reliable, secure service (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

When you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we process the contact details and information you choose to send, such as dates and guest numbers, to answer and manage your enquiry. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract or performing the accommodation contract (Article 6(1)(b)). Mandatory obligations associated with a stay are based on law (Article 6(1)(c)). Providing contact details is optional, but without the necessary details we may be unable to respond. There are no booking forms or payments on this website.

Optional statistics

Only after you consent do we activate Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand which pages and apartments are viewed and which links to WhatsApp, email, Booking.com or Airbnb are used. This involves browser identifiers, technical device information, visited pages, traffic sources and interactions. A contact click does not establish that a message or booking was completed.

Statistics rely on consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Before acceptance we neither load Google Analytics nor send measurement requests to Google. We do not use Google Signals or advertising personalisation. We do not send Analytics names, contact details or message contents; page addresses are stripped of parameters that could contain personal data.

Cookies and preferences on your device

You can accept or reject statistics in the initial panel and change or withdraw your choice using the privacy preferences control in the footer. Rejecting statistics does not restrict access to the website or prevent you from contacting us. Withdrawal stops future measurement and does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings; the website may then ask for your preference again.

Recipients, external services and transfers

Data is accessible to the controller, people authorised to handle enquiries, and technical or communication providers as needed for their respective services. OVHcloud provides hosting; Google processes statistics data when you consent. See OVHcloud’s data protection information and Google’s information for sites using its services.

Google Maps, WhatsApp, Booking.com and Airbnb are external links: their own privacy notices also apply when you open them. The interactive Google map on the home page loads only when you activate it with a click, which is separate from the statistics consent; until then you see a static image hosted by us. You can close it at any time during your visit and return to the preview: the choice is not stored and every new visit starts from the preview. Closing the map does not undo data already sent to Google. When you activate it, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies; the legal basis is the consent you give with that click. Read the notices from Google, WhatsApp, Booking.com and Airbnb.

International services may involve processing outside the European Economic Area. Applicable conditions and safeguards depend on the service and recipient, including adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses where applicable. Google describes its mechanisms in its data transfer information. You may ask the controller about safeguards for processing that concerns you.

Retention

Google Analytics user-level and event-level data retention is set to 2 months, without resetting the retention period when new activity occurs. Google applies changes to this setting after 24 hours. Aggregated reports may be retained beyond that period. See Google’s data retention documentation for details.

Communications are retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry or stay and, where applicable, meet legal obligations or protect a legal right. Technical data retention is determined by operational, security and fault-investigation needs. The cookie durations above concern the browser and do not automatically match retention of data already collected by providers. Contact us for retention information concerning your circumstances.

Your rights

Where the GDPR provides, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. You may complain to the Italian Data Protection Authority or the competent authority in your country. This website does not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
